My service has always been great and the food isn't half bad! Music is always my style as well.

Worse bar service ever! We felt like we were imposing. Bartender stared at his phone the whole time. No eye contact at all. Quiet Sunday afternoon. We had to ask the waitress for anything we needed. She was great but the bar was not where she was working. Mussels tasted good but we had to send them back because only half were opened. They did send a new order which was fine.

Food was good, service was mediocre...suggestion for the brisket slice thinner & not against the grain.

Food was ok. We had crab enchiladas that were pretty good but the shrimp fajitas and pulled pork sandwich were just ok. The side dishes were cold, but the beer selection was awesome. Try the imperial chocolate one!

We happened to come out here on Easter Sunday. We'd been hiking on the other side of the river and wanted to pop in somewhere for lunch. They were open, and I was pleased to find that salsa and chips come out for you to nibble on. I had a burger, which was ok. Nothing to knock my socks off, one of our party had the brisket which made me intensely jealous. My husband ordered nachos which were about $8 thinking he'd get "a typical appetizer size" (see dinner plate) of nachos. OMG, this plate was the size of a child and it was covered with re fried beans and shredded pork, chicken, beef, you name it. It was intense. All in all, we liked the atmosphere, the prices and if I lived nearby we'd likely be regulars by now.

This place is horrible from the food also the lighting is so bad!!!!! the only thing good about this place is the beer and pool table. I wouldn't dare go their again if I was paid to.

Awesome small town bar, drinks were good atmosphere was friendly and seemed like the management not only friendly but very welcoming. If you are in the area, this is the place to stop for a few drinks.

It is better than you'd expect. I've only been here once, gotten the flight of Flying Dog beers and had their burger on special ($6 burger and fries not from McDonalds? Yes, please.) The burger was very tasty and sizable. I will say I ordered it medium and it probably came out closer to med-well/well done; however, the burger was still juicy so it was OK with me. The fries were a little pathetic in that they weren't crispy. Considering you're in small-town America, I really just want a good rotating beer selection (CHECK), tasty food specials (CHECK) and a place that seems like a fun time (CHECK). Also, you're at a bar... this ain't fine dining people. I am considering moving to Port, and would be happy to call this place my regular bar/restaurant when I'm not feeling pretentious (coincidentally, if you are feeling pretentious, Laurrapin in Havre de Grace is very good).

This place is a gem, hidden in historic old Port Deposit, MD. My wife and I have been coming here for almost a year, my only regret is that I didn't find this place sooner. The food is amazing, I've sampled just about everything on the menu and I'm impressed with it all. The burgers are especially tasty, fresh and very filling. Served with fresh cut boardwalk style fries, splash on the vinegar and salt and it's pure heaven. The people are the real reason I keep coming back. The servers are very nice and friendly, even the bus boys seem like good friendly kids. The bar staff is hands down some of the best around. I've yet to find a drink that Nick can't make. The ambiance and decor just feel like home. The second I walk in I feel like I can relax and just enjoy myself. The place is nice enough to bring my family for an enjoyable meal, and cozy enough for a romantic dinner with the wife. It also has a fun happening feel, with its pool table and multiple flat screens, this would definitely make an awesome destination to watch the big game. This place is a must for any local Ceciltucky folk or for anyone fortunate enough to be traveling thru Port Deposit, MD.

mmmmmmmmm....ohh I'm sorry..loved the Burger , loved it. Came here on a cold Sunday just because I have heard that the burgers are great...Boy, were they right. We were the first ones in but it was cool becasue you could appriciate the decor. Our bartender came out immediately and started a conversation. I ordered a Bloody mary and let me tell you..it hit the spot. My burger was right on point, just like I ordered it. Several locals walked in and treated me like I was one of them. Joe's Crog is a must check out.

i've heard many good things about this place. We were on our way to Prost when we realized they were only open Wed - Sun so we decided on Joe's. The chips and salsa were very good. We got a small crab pretzel which was amazing. I made the mistake of getting crab/shrimp enchiladas...now, the shrimp and crab was delicious but there was so much old bay style sauce it pretty much over powered the whole dish. My beans and rice were god awful...extremely dry! All in all I'd be willing to give this place a second chance. It's my fault I guess...i should know better than to order something semi mexican from a bar...

Started out going to Backfin but with no reservations the wait was 1/2 hour and no room at the bar to wait, so we thought we'd walk around the little town and check things out while waiting. Went across the street to Joe's Grog House to check out their menu and see what beers they had and were checking the stars and reviews on Yelp outside. A gentleman standing outside asked if we were coming in and recommended the place heartily to us as " twice the food, just as good and about half the price" so we decided to go in, have a drink and check out their menu. Well, for a pub/bar, the menu was definitely unusual, so we decided to stay and eat there. The same gentleman (Hal) who told us about the place came around to our side of the bar and invited us to sit with him, his wife (Mona) and their friends on the other side, so we moved over and ordered our food. I ordered the shrimp fajitas, corn/crab chowder and my husband ordered the sherry shrimp penne and mussels. OH MY GOODNESS! The chowder was to die for, tons of crab and smooth as silk. The mussels were so fresh and tender and delicious! My Shrimp Fajitas came with 7 JUMBO, butterflied shrimp and tons of veggies and I was in heaven My husband's pasta dish was so delicious he ate every morsel even after finishing up the soup and the mussels!!! I cannot say how thankful we were that Hal told us to give the place a try and that we decided to not wait for the other restaurant! We will go back. Supposedly they have a great St. Patrick's day bash, so maybe then? We were some very happy diners tonight!

We are trying them all in Port. Today we tried this place and wow... awesome! Pitcher of beer for $6 and I had the Jambalaya. Very authentic and great tasting with big Crawfish (see pic I posted). She had the Tacos and again just great. Our server was very good so we will be back to try a few more dishes!!!

Now here's another update of the hit in the hit-or-miss review. Rolled up there on Monday where burgers are 1/2 price. gave it another try. The jukebox here is pretty cool if you can wrangle it form the high schoolers and their...whatever it is they listen to these days. Most nights this is a drinking your problems away-type country ass jukebox and I can get with that. 1. They still had Sam's Summer Brew on tap and the prices are very reasonable. 2. the burger nights have a theme. The chef has a special burger you can try, or have it your way. Tonight was avocado and cole slaw burger. Huh?? I would never put those together and can't really imagine what it would be like...So what the hell. Order it up. I ordered it medium rare remembering the last burger I got here I was not satisfied with. 3. On the second round of Sam's the burger came out and was cooked to perfection! The avacado/cole slaw incident proved to be a surprising taste combo that really worked for me. I'd never pick it from a menu but a leap of faith had rewarded me. 4. A Yankee fan from Jersey was sitting next to me and upset that ESPN was playing the Mets/Braves game rather than the Yanks/Blue Jays game...But A.Rod is at 599 HR's! This could be the night! 5. I love it when Yankee fans don't get their way.

It says a place you can bring kids, not true. My kids are older in their teens, from the outside looked good and we had been told to come here, that it was a nice place. It was a Sunday afternoon. We were seated in the restaurant, looked nice inside, but then it started 6 obnoxious people obviously, DRUNK, were seated near us and there language was sexual, about how big so and so P is, etc. One woman who was obviously drunk was laughing so loud it just went threw you. I wanted to go up to her and tell her, that she was not the only person in the restaurant and she needs to go home and sleep it off. Our server was very nice. A man at there table snapped his finger and I think, even whistle at her to come over to them. I was discussed that he would treat her like that. But, she kept serving them drinks. Our food was horrible, my food was cold and tasted old and my husband food had a bad after taste, he order the pork and ribs, I ordered the Jambalaya. Tasted like old seafood. I like to have fun just as much as anyone else, but when you become a nuisance to the other patron in the restaurant. Someone in charge should handle the situation and send them on their way. Maybe call them a cab.

Stopped here for the first time on Sunday. Decided to try the pit beef sandwich, which is a regular item on the menu on Sunday's. You won't be disappointed, it was great. I could only eat half of it, so will be my lunch today Joe's was a nice surprise for me. Will return. .

I absolutely love the design and feel of the decorations at this restaurant. The exposed stone look and open layout are amazingly inviting. Food is of a BBQ and Cajun-Mex style. The food ranges from good to well above average. Night time they have a limited "fried food" bar menu. I've had the BBQ on several occasions and always been very pleased with the food. Above average beer selection for a little local bar with the obligatory Clipper City rebranded "House Ale". If you do visit, I'd recommend coming in before 8 or 9 Thursday-Saturday. On the weekend it becomes a very young crowd that seems mostly intent on drinking heavily, playing pool and spending money on the jukebox. It's not the crowd that someone who would be coming in for a nice dinner would probably want to deal with.

A great gem for travelers. We had the gumbo and the pork shoulder with jalapeno cheddar corn bread. I haven't had New Orleans food this good since, well, New Orleans. We will definitely come back whenever we are in the area.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
